Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara

Last Thursday I attended a masterclass in Urban Decay Blackrock (read about it here) and was introduced to Perversion Mascara and its primer Subversion. Perversion promises bigger, blacker, badder lashes and I was intrigued to see if this was the case.
I find that mascara often leaves my lashes dry and brittle. I want lots of drama around my eyes but sometimes my lashes end up looking like ugly little twigs. If I have too much mascara on, my eyes tend to sting a bit. Removing some mascaras can be a daunting process and can add to the dry irritated feeling.
So how did Perversion fare? I loved that I was able to apply it directly rather than needing to dab it on a tissue first. The texture is very wet and so it should ideally be applied quite slowly but to be honest I always seem to be in a rush and it went on just fine with a hurried hand. Each lash is lifted and looks more defined. I wear liquid liner flicks every day so I need my lashes to really stand out, sometimes they fade and the liner takes over. I loved the definition offered by Perversion as it is incredibly black.

The mascara is long lasting and doesn’t smudge so there is really no need to reapply during the day. The lashes don’t dry out at all and at no point during the day do they feel hard. I have recently taken an allergic reaction to another product on the market which promises some of the same results but I felt no itchiness or stinginess from Perversion at all.

As the mascara had not yet been released on the day of the masterclass I left a deposit on the Perversion set. The set contains a full size mascara and its primer Subversion. The set costs €21. I was lucky enough to be given a sample of the mascara to try out and I have definitely been converted. I can’t wait to collect my set and try Subversion.
