Lush is a mecca for cosmetics lovers. Their window displays, friendly atmosphere and beautiful scents are incredibly alluring and can’t be ignored. I love the brand because the cosmetics are all fresh and hand-made but most importantly they are cruelty free. Lush is fighting the good fight against animal testing.
On Wednesday evening I met up with some lovely ladies and headed to Lush on Grafton Street. Upon arrival we were immediately delighted with the smells and scenery. There were bath bombs and face masks galore.
We were greeted by the nicest and friendliest staff. I have to be very honest and say I was in bad form and wasn’t really in the mood to go but the delightful staff members cheered me up. Their joy and enthusiasm was contagious. They chatted to Emma (my blogging bestie from Mastering Your Makeup) and I about their soon to arrive Halloween and Christmas stock and we had lots of fun discussing Halloween costumes. I can’t wait to get my hands on their festive treats.
We were shown products for the face that would suit each of our skin types. I tried Angels on Bare Skin which is a great exfoliator for dry and sensitive skin. My hand felt amazing afterwards. Sometimes I get a little bit of redness from an exfoliator but I didn’t at all with this one. My hand was super smooth afterwards.
We then sampled various moisturisers, eye creams and an ocean salt scrub. I wanted everything! Following our personal demonstrations we wandered around the shop and stuck our paws and noses in loads of goodies. I was quite taken with a coconut hand scrub.
I couldn’t help but be in awe of the amazing soap collection. It is so incredibly pretty. I don’t think I could actually use it because it is too nice to ruin.
The staff experimented with some bath bombs and made amazingly scented colour explosions. I’m more of a shower person than a bath lover but their experiment did make me think of having a colourful bubbly bath.
On the make-up side of things I developed a particular grá for the Emotional Brilliance translucent powder. It was a very soft and fine powder that had a radiant finish to it. I also really liked the name.
When we were leaving I bought himself a tub of Kalamazoo as he was my chauffeur for the night. Kalamazoo is a beard and facial wash which smells of pineapple. He has used it each night since its purchase and loves it.
We were sent home with gorgeous treats including Life’s a Beach body scrub powder, the Frozen bath bomb, a Kinky hot oil hair treatment and Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair shower gel.
It was an amazing evening full of cheer and prettiness. The Halloween and Christmas stock will arrive on October 2nd.
