I’m hoping to host a Halloween meet-up on Saturday the 25th of October in Dublin. As Halloween is the best time of year (in my opinion anyway), I thought it would be lovely for all of us to meet. We can enjoy a Halloween theme with lots of sweets and goodies. I hope to have some demos on the day, some of which may have a spooky theme.
I’m still thinking about whether we should make it a costume gathering. My preference would be for fancy dress but I know it isn’t for everyone so I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Please let me know if you’d like to come by leaving a comment with your blog name, contacting me on Twitter (@RubyL_MakeUp) with #HallowBloggers or emailing me firstname.lastname@example.org.
I look forward to hearing from all of you.
Update 21st of August,
I’m so happy that almost 40 of you have signed up for the event. I didn’t know if anyone would be interested at all. I guess we all love Halloween.
From conversations I’ve had, most of you seem to be in favour of costumes. We can make it a costume event but if you don’t want to wear a costume you don’t have to. I don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable. You can just get creative with your make-up or alternatively I’ll have some Halloween props on stand-by. I may have a little prize for the best dressed.
There will be a few demos on the day discussing skincare, make-up and something to tie in with the Halloween theme. There will also be a raffle in aid of The Simon Community. I’ve been blown away by the generosity of some companies and people in terms of supporting the raffle. I’m also in the middle or organising goodie bags.
I don’t yet have a venue but I will inform you as soon as I find somewhere mad enough to take on 40 bloggers in fancy dress.
Please DM me your email addresses so that I can keep you updated.
Update: 10th of September
The #HallowBloggers event will take place in Costa on College Green (downstairs) at 1pm until about 5pm. At the moment I have three demos organised: Deirdre from NeoStrata will talk to us about skincare, Leonie from Urban Decay will create the perfect look for autumn and the lovely From Matte to Metallic ladies, Jen and Ciara are going to do a Halloween look. There may also be some other surprises on the day. If any of you would like to have your make-up done by From Matte to Metallic on the day, please get in contact with me.
As mentioned the raffle is in aid of The Simon Community and I’ve already received some lovely prizes. There will also be goodie bags for attendees.
Please please please send me your email addresses so I can make sure that everyone receives updates. If you want to also send me your Halloween costume ideas please do, just in case you want to check if someone else has the same idea. I think I’m going to be the bride of Frankenstein’s monster. You do not have to wear a costume if you don’t want to. Perhaps you might want to have Halloween themed make-up or an accessory instead. If you want to come as you are that’s perfectly fine too. There will be a prize on the day for best dressed.
