Frosted Plum from The Body Shop

Isn’t it funny how a smell can remind one of so much?  It can act as a time machine and bring one back years or it can conjure up feelings and emotions?  Well The Body Shop’s Dewberry is one of those magical scents for me.  It is now long gone from stock but I have a bottle stashed away that I sometimes like to open and smell.  I won’t ever use it and it is probably well passed date of proper use as it is no longer even purple but it still has its scent.  When I was younger my Granddad used to get the bus to town every Christmas and buy me a Dewberry set.  Who knows why he chose Dewberry.  Maybe it was the first set he saw or maybe he liked the purple colour or the straw basket it used to come in.  I’ll never know why but for whatever reason it became a Christmas tradition.

Dewberry may be long gone but I think I may have found my second favourite set of purple goodies from The Body Shop.  Yesterday I was treated to a delightful evening featuring The Body Shop’s festive treats including Frosted Cranberry, Spiced Apple and the new Frosted Plum.

Whilst the Frosted Cranberry and Spiced Apple were absolutely gorgeous I want to focus on the purple wonder that is Frosted Plum.  I instantly fell in love with it.  I suppose part of the reason was that it did resemble a ghost of Christmas past and my beloved Dewberry.   There were full sets to choose from as well as individual bits and pieces.  The individual goodies include shower gels, exfoliators, lotions, oils, candles and more.  I was lucky enough to be sent home with a few of them; I’ll get to those in a minute.  The best part of buying one of the Frosted Plum sets, or indeed any Feel So Good set is that The Body Shop has partnered with Water Aid to provide clean water to families in Ethiopia.  For each Feel So Good set bought a family in Ethiopia will have clean water for a day.  This is amazing and makes a gift from The Body Shop mean more than merely a few bath treats.

The evening itself was a sea of festivities with glittery plum cupcakes and Christmas pudding cake pops.  There was an opportunity to avail of henna or nail painting and there was an array of other Christmas treats to sample and view.

Anyone familiar with The Body Shop will know the lovely Donna-Marie who was on hand to tell us all about the Christmas collection and the Water Aid partnership.  As always she was a delight.  The fab ladies of Revolve PR were also on hand and have to be congratulated on an amazing evening.  They worked tirelessly to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere and it really was fantastic.

So getting back to my Frosted Plum bits and pieces, we were sent home with the most amazingly generous goodie bags.  Treats included Frosted Plum bath fizzies, a candle, exfoliator, shimmering oil, shimmering lotion, body butter and one of their new festive edition palettes.  I obviously haven’t used all of these products since yesterday evening but I have used the exfoliator, which is The Body Shop’s signature gel like formula.  It was simply gorgeous.  I followed this with body butter.  The scent is just amazing.  I adore it.  This morning I use sprayed the oil on my wrists as a perfume and it didn’t disappoint.  I have the candle lighting at the moment as I’m trying to make both myself and my house a temple for Frosted Plum!  A bottle of water was placed in each bag to represent Water Aid.  I will create a more in-depth review of the products upon further use and an eye look with the very beautiful shadow palette.

In case it isn’t obvious, I love love love the Frosted Plum collection.  The evening was fantastic.  Oh and if The Body Shop could bring back Dewberry that would be great.
